*Added a Painting

A valid criticism about my website would be saying that it is designed in a way which distracts from the art itself.

I made this website just because I wanted to make a website , I only afterwards used the gallery idea as an excuse.

So I really made this website as sort of a piece of art in itself.

*Varnished Two Paintings

Two most recent paintings has been varnished.

Recently (and you can see it with these two new paintings) I am trying to maintain the "freshness" of painting in nature. The way that I work is that I would go out and paint nature , then (with the help of a few pictures I took) paint at home and refine the details. Though I feel that some times the freshness of the colors and beauty of painting in nature could be harmed by this process. One thing that could help with that problem , is to manage to paint more details in nature in the first place of course. But also being careful not to change the colors as I have seen them in nature , and not to over work the piece and get lost in the details.

In my website , most of the times I would share a picture of the painting in the state of being unrefined (the painting as I painted it in nature and have not refined at home). I like to think about it as a "color sketch". You can find pictures of these color sketches bellow the main picture of the painting/drawing , click it and you will see the image.

Generally , there are a lot of things in this website that are clickable.

*Varnishing

I will be varnishing the newest piece I have posted in about a week.

A little bit of an explanation - the reason I mention when a piece I have posted is not yet varnished is because the varnish is a protective layer that you add to an oil painting. That layer causes the paint to appear as it was while wet , meaning after the varnish you could see the colors in the right way (as they were while I was painting it).

That means when you see "Unvarnished" below a piece , the colors you are seeing are a little more dull (it especially matters with the darker colors) so you could know the colors are not yet as vibrant as they really are supposed to be.

I do not archive the unvarnished pictures on the website , though if you want to see the difference for your self you are welcome to save one of the unvarnished images , wait and compare it to the varnished one (once I posted it). It usually takes around a month to varnish a piece , though its recommended to even wait longer. Some times I do.

* Addition of the "News" page.

This page will be an archive for the "Last Update" comments you can find at the Home Page.

In addition to that I might write a few things about the website and my art , as to explain things that may not be clear. And maybe even add a few updates about other things I am working on.
